Meetrub

KYC & AML Policy

Legal requirement

Meetrub implements KYC and AML controls under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act 2002 (PMLA) and RBI guidelines applicable to payment intermediaries.

KYC requirements — Freelancers

KYC is mandatory before first withdrawal. Required documents:

  • PAN card — mandatory for TDS compliance under Section 194-O.
  • Aadhaar card, Passport, or Voter ID — identity verification.
  • Bank account details with cancelled cheque or bank statement — payout verification.
  • GSTIN — required only if annual taxable turnover exceeds Rs. 20 lakhs.

KYC requirements — Creators

  • GST-registered creators must provide GSTIN for B2B invoicing and ITC claims.
  • Billing name and address required for invoice generation.
  • For orders above Rs. 2,00,000, additional identity verification may be requested.

AML controls

  • Meetrub monitors transactions for unusual patterns — unusually large orders, rapid payment succession, or inconsistencies with stated account purpose.
  • Meetrub may freeze funds, suspend accounts, and report suspicious transactions to FIU-IND as required under PMLA.
  • Meetrub will not process transactions structured to avoid reporting thresholds.
  • Freelancers may not use the Meetrub wallet as a banking or money transfer facility.

Document verification

  • KYC documents reviewed by admin within 2 business days of submission.
  • Rejected documents receive a clear reason and opportunity to resubmit.
  • KYC documents stored encrypted and not shared except as required by law.
